Learn More About Us
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in BumtterBee Montessori Preschool! I’m excited for you to explore these pages and learn more about us and what we offer children and families. Choosing the right program for your child is a vital step in supporting their growth, and we believe in fostering the development of the whole child cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically on their path to independence.
At BumtterBee Montessori, we are deeply committed to the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes individualized learning, respect for the child's natural development, and the cultivation of independence. Our curriculum is designed to nurture each child’s unique interests and abilities, allowing them to engage with their learning at their own pace. Through hands-on, self-directed activities, children build essential skills such as concentration, self-discipline, and responsibility, while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to create a prepared environment where children can explore, experiment, and discover. In a mixed-age setting, they learn from one another, develop social skills, and build relationships based on collaboration and respect. The Montessori method encourages children to take ownership of their learning, helping them grow in confidence and self-reliance.
If you’d like to learn more about how we can support your child’s growth and development, we invite you to schedule a visit. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our community!
Warmly

Our Owner & Founder
I am Lorena Linares, born and raised originally in Bogotá, Colombia, and I moved to New York in 2017.
I am a New York State-certified teacher and graduated from the National Pedagogical University of Colombia with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. I have worked in the field of education since 2009. I specialize in Montessori education for children from Birth to 6 years.
I support children in language and speech acquisition by providing them with tools. that allow them to recognize elements and situations in both Spanish and English. languages.
During my experience as a teacher in the United States, I had the opportunity to work under different education methods such as traditional pedagogy, Regio Emilia, and Montessori. The Montessori method is the one that has had the greatest impact on my professional life.
I decided to create a “BumtterBee Montessori” preschool in 2023, incorporating the Spanish language as the second most spoken language in the United States by carrying out activities that allow children and their parents to know and expand their vocabulary and access multicultural visions using different educational tools. Materials and experiences within the educational environment proposed by María Montessori as Practical Life, Sensory, and Language are for the acquisition and development of independence, self-discipline, the ability to concentrate, self-confidence, communication, expression, and growth of his morality and individuality.
